Buffalo is Aristocrat's classic 5-reel, 1,024-ways slot with a Western prairie theme, and it's still on casino floors and in several US online casinos.
Quick facts - Provider: Aristocrat - Layout: 5 reels x 4 rows, 1,024 ways (Xtra Reel Power format, no fixed paylines) - RTP: reviews of the online version list about 94.5%–94.85%. On land-based machines the casino sets the RTP, so it varies. - Online debut: BetMGM in New Jersey, September 2023
How the bonus works - 3, 4 or 5 gold coin scatters award 8, 15 or 20 free spins. More coins during the feature can retrigger it. - The sunset wild lands only on reels 2, 3 and 4. In free spins each wild carries a 2x or 3x multiplier, and the multipliers combine, so one win can reach up to 27x. - In the base game the goal is to stack buffalo symbols across as many reels as you can, since each extra buffalo multiplies your ways.
Online in the US Reviews list Buffalo at major operators in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, including BetMGM and DraftKings. Lineups differ by state, so check the lobby in your app.
Worth knowing / watch out for - Reviews don't agree on volatility (some say medium, some say high). Expect long dry spells between free-spin hits. - The 27x maximum needs three 3x wilds in one win, which is rare. - The online version's RTP is lower than many modern online slots.
Poll: How would you rate Buffalo? - 5 – Excellent - 4 – Good - 3 – Average - 2 – Poor - 1 – Avoid
Do you play Buffalo on the casino floor or online, and does the online version feel the same to you?
